From Paris to Bologna, a journey with Liszt and Rossini is an exhibition curated by Rossana Dalmonte, Emanuela Marcante, Daniele Tonini. The exhibition gives an overview on Liszt’s first journey to Italy, his stay in Bologna in 1838 and his friendship with Rossini (in the year of the 150th anniversary of Rossini’s death) following a route full of visual and artistic stimuli and references to an important moment in Italian and European history.
Lectures will take place every Saturday and Sunday and on Wednesday 16 and 23 January focusing on themes of music, art, history and culture, and stories of known and lesser known men and women, such as Marie d’Agoult, who followed Liszt’s journey. The Liszt Institute and the Library of San Giorgio in Poggiale will display documents from their archives.
Concerts will take places on historical pianos in San Colombano / Tagliavini collection and on Rossini’s Pleyel piano in Museo della Musica.
