From June 19 to July 28, 2025, Palazzo Boncompagni in Bologna will host Jungle at the Palace, an exhibition by artist Marta Roberti.
Her works, inhabited by hybrid creatures, mythological deities, and fantastical animals, engage in a dialogue with the Renaissance architecture and decorations of the palace, once the residence of Pope Gregory XIII. The project also draws inspiration from the figure of scientist Ulisse Aldrovandi, enriching the interplay between history, nature, and imagination.
The exhibition marks the first summer opening of the palace and showcases the new Boncompagnina spaces, dedicated to contemporary figurative art.
Born in Brescia in 1977, Marta Roberti explores themes of metamorphosis and fluid identity in her work, using drawing and her own body as a model. She has exhibited internationally and was awarded the Cantica21 grant.
