Fink | Locomotiv

On Thursday 29 October 2026, Fink performs on stage at the Locomotiv Club.

The City Is Coming to Erase It All is Fink’s ninth studio album, following 2024’s Beauty in Your Wake. The album was created with an approach strictly tied to a specific era: the idea was to imagine a record that Michael Chapman might have made, down to the smallest detail. Grammy-winning producer Sam Okell helped guide the process: “If it didn’t exist in 1974, you’re not allowed to use it.” But this is nowstalgia, not nostalgia. “I want something new, but with the same spirit,” explains Fin Greenall. Touring remains as much a necessity as a joy: “The need to play the new material is so overwhelming that it outweighs every comfort and every little privilege.”

City is the product of this hunger for discovery and a reverence for the album as an art form — just as it was in 1974. The cover reflects its contents: the opening song is the greeting, while the instrumental closing track is the conclusion. It is a story. It is a record for people who, like its creators, are curious. People willing to brave a little cold for music, who come home to light a crackling fire, and who stay with these songs until they are ready to chase their own blue sky.
