Museo San Colombano launches its 2026/2027 cultural season with a programme of concerts, advanced music training, educational activities and accessibility initiatives, as part of the Genus Bononiae project promoted by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna and Opera Laboratori.
At the heart of the new season is the collaboration between Fondazione Carisbo and the G.B. Martini Conservatory of Music in Bologna, which oversees the care and preservation of the museum’s valuable collection of historical musical instruments. Thanks to the regular presence of advanced students from the Conservatory, visitors may also have the opportunity to hear historical harpsichords, clavichords, organs, spinets and pianos being played live during regular museum opening hours.
The programme includes early and classical music concerts, masterclasses and educational activities, as well as guided visits and dedicated experiences for blind and visually impaired visitors. Accessibility tools available at the museum also include tactile materials and the “San Colombano” app, which makes it possible to listen to the instruments in the collection using bone-conduction headphones.
