On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 8:30 pm, DAMSLab/La Soffitta hosts the performance Daughters of Middle-earth.
An urban dance performance intertwining choreography and poetic language, creating a scenic device in which the body becomes a space of transition between identities, memories and multiple belongings. The work stems from the idea of building bridges between worlds and languages, seeking expressive forms capable of conveying hybrid experiences marked by cultural and biographical stratifications. The performance addresses contemporary themes related to the body and its visibility: bodies excluded, classified or forgotten, but also capable of transformation and of overcoming imposed boundaries.
Daughters of Middle-earth unfolds as a ritual in which dance and poetic testimony intertwine, giving shape to a search for awareness emerging from the fractures of identity.
The work presents itself as an invitation to recognise oneself within an intermediate, fluid and undefined dimension, where apparently separate elements can be connected, making visible links often invisible within dominant narratives.
