Rita Puig-Serra: Anatomy of an Oyster

In Bologna from June 12 to September 15 there will be a solo exhibition by Catalan artist Rita Puig-Serra, a preview and part of the program of the fourth edition of the PhMuseum Days festival , is a journey into the past that traces a story of courage and personal reworking starting with the abuse the artist suffered in her family as a child. Anatomy of an Oyster is Rita Puig-Serra's attempt to recount a painful and hidden experience that needed to be told, to her now absent mother and to herself. In a backward journey that consists of text, archival images and new shots, the photographer revisits the places of her childhood that help her contextualize her own present.

Also during the opening on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and in collaboration with the Modenese cultural association Sugar Paper, Rita Puig-Serra will present the book Anatomy of an Oyster published by Witty Books.
