From November 15, 2025, to February 22, 2026, Palazzo Tozzoni will host The Garden of Vanities, the new exhibition that Imola Musei dedicates to the Japanese artist Keita Miyazaki.
His sculptures, made from recycled materials and electronic components, weave among the historic furnishings of the house-museum, creating a journey focused on the beauty of imperfection, where past and future meet and from this interaction emerges a reflection on the fragility of modernity.
At the heart of this unusual research is, of course, Japanese culture with its strong contradictions, teetering between its drive towards technological progress and the deep-rooted presence of its millennia-old tradition.
The shock of the 2011 tsunami and the sight of car carcasses and pieces in landscapes devastated by mud were the spark that generated Miyazaki's reflections, who chose his sculptures of mechanical fragments as a symbol of an industrial society that shows all its vulnerability in the face of the power of nature. The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Imola – Imola Musei in collaboration with the Rosenfeld Gallery in London, curated by Diego Galizzi and Riccardo Freddo, offers an immersive journey where the contrast between beauty and decay transforms into a unique experience.
