On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 5:00 pm at the Teatro comunale Palazzo Minerva in Minerbio, the children’s performance Hansel and Gretel by the association Il Baule Volante takes the stage.
A house in the woods, a family in difficulty.
Two children, alone, facing the harshness of the world and the darkness of the forest, are the protagonists of this classic, ancient—very ancient—fairy tale that remains ever urgent to tell, to experience, and to confront.
Why can we lose our way in the woods? Why can the people dearest to us, those we trust the most, come to abandon us? Why can we have terrible encounters and face serious dangers when we are alone and far from home? And how can we face the greatest fears that lurk deep within our hearts?
Hansel and Gretel are left to themselves in the thick of a dark and dangerous forest, and no good fairy or magical object will come to save them—they must fend for themselves. But they are not truly alone: they are together, they hold hands, they help each other, they give each other courage… and bravely they will go on to face their destiny…
A story rich in charm and emotion, in which we seek to reveal hidden meanings through word and movement. The performance mainly employs the technique of oral storytelling, with its simplicity and immediacy. Yet often the spoken word merges with expressive movement or gives way entirely to sequences of “gesture-summaries,” in an attempt to capture the deepest essence of the tale, using few objects and costumes, leaving full evocative power to voice and body.
Recommended age: from 5 to 11 years.
