As with most of the residential buildings of the period, Palazzo Toschi was formed over time by uniting the adjoining smaller buildings to its Renaissance counterpart. Today, the building comprises two paved inner courtyards, a reception hall with access to Via Emilia, and a service courtyard for the granary and storerooms with a driveway entrance on the opposite Via della Giovenca. Cosimo Morelli is thought to have intervened in the renovation of the palace, following the canons of the neo-Palladian current in vogue at the time. On the first floor, the rooms are decorated with 19th-century frescoes by Alessandro Dalla Nave.
