Modena< 50 Km from Bologna
The Museo Enzo Ferrari opened in 2012 and includes two buildings: Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace - considered the cultural and architectural centre of the whole museum, and a new exhibition gallery surrounding the House. This building was restored in order to preserve both the place where Enzo Ferrari used to live and his laboratory-garage, where unpublished short films and precious mementoes reveal the life of Enzo Ferrari as a man, a driver and a car-maker throughout the 20th century. The second building houses a flexible mounting representing story, figures, places and races of the Modenese sport motor racing. Cars are the protagonists of the mounting and are exhibited like works of art on design platforms. They are periodically changed according to the programme of temporary exhibitions, with a renewable exhibition method, and are surrounded by display racks housing documentation, objects as well as audio and video materials related to the Modenese motor racing. Tours of the Museo Enzo Ferrari and of the Museo Ferrari in Maranello are available. If you are willing to visit them, you may buy a combined ticket at a reduced price, valid for entry to both museums. from the website museomodena.ferrari.com and www.motorvalley.it
