The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola is one of Italy's most important racetracks and has hosted motorsport events such as the San Marino Formula One Grand Prix and the Formula 3000 World Championship. The World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the European Le Mans Series still take place here today.
Opened in 1953, it hosted the first Formula One race in 1963, the Motorcycle World Championship in 1963, and the 51st Italian Grand Prix in 1980. Drivers such as Ayrton Senna, to whom a statue was dedicated in 1997, also raced on this track.
In addition to races, the racetrack hosts major popular events such as the Imola Mostra Scambio – the most important Italian sector event for vintage cars, motorcycles, bicycles, accessories, and spare parts – concerts, and presentations of new car and motorcycle models. The Checco Costa Museum, located at the Imola Racetrack, opens for temporary exhibitions, as it does not house permanent collections.
