Not too far
from Madonna dell’Acero, the town of Pian d’Ivo comes with a peculiar
two-storey Visitor Centre with lots of interactive panels and exhibition spaces
that will introduce you to the territory’s hydrographic asset just by looking
at a detailed scale model of the area.
The
exhibition primarily focuses on “water” at multiple levels, starting from its
intense erosive activity evidenced by magnificent samples of rocks and
minerals, while the reproduction of a mill shows the importance of water as a
driving force for human activities.
The visitor
centre offers exhibitions for the youngest as well, including special panels
displaying animal paw prints and sounds.
The
territory is thus explored and explained in an intuitive way thanks to
pictures, photos and captivating scale models that represent the synergy
between nature and humans in their daily activities.
