Gelato Museum Carpigiani in Anzola dell’Emilia is the first museum to illustrate the History, Culture and Technology of artisanal gelato, a fresh high-quality product that represents Italian excellency and creativity all over the world.
Inaugurated in 2012, the museum features an interactive itinerary on three levels: the evolution of gelato over time, the evolution of technology and how and when gelato was savoured. The exhibition boasts over 20 artisanal machines, multimedia stations, 10,000 photographs and historic documents, precious period tools and accessories, unpublished video-interviews and educational workshops.
Next the museum the Carpigiani Gelato University was set up in 2003 and is the first gelato school in Italy and the world. A point of reference for gelato-makers, entrepreneurs, chefs and bakers and an innovative institution for those wishing to get to know more about the art of Italian gelato.
