Piazza Maggiore - Indipendenza
In 1966 Paolo and Romana Zauli decided to set up the art gallery “del Caminetto” in solidarity with the antiquarians from Florence who were victim of a flood. The Zauli family started the exhibition activity in the rooms of Palazzo Salina Brazzetti, with the exhibition ““Antichi disegni” (Ancient drawings), including mainly artists from Bologna. The art gallery “del Caminetto” did not only organize exhibitions of the mentioned paintings and ancient drawings, it was also able to highlight other components of Italian art, among which wonderful works of plastic arts, and specifically earthenware. In this respect we would like to mention two exhibitions with previously unexhibited works by Giuseppe Maria Mazza, Angelo Gabriello Piò, Èrcole Lelli and Filippo Scandellari. The re-interpreting of the works of Pelagio Palagi, Felice Giani and Alessandro Guardassoni is also worthy of mention. Now the owner is the daughter Maria, who continues the activity of the gallery in its current office that since 1994 has been in Galleria Falcone e Borsellino 4/D, next to piazza Galileo, near Piazza Maggiore
