The goals of the Fondazione Cirulli are the promotion, at a national and international level, of 20th century Italian art and visual culture through a reconsideration of its unprecedented and multidisciplinary heritage; and the development of projects aimed at disseminating the knowledge of Italy’s creative culture from the birth of modernity and the concept of Made in Italy to the years of the post-war economic boom. The exhibition "Universo Futurista"(21 April-18 November 2018 - Fondazione Cirulli - Via Emilia 275 San Lazzaro di Savena), curated by Jeffrey T. Schnapp and Silvia Evangelisti focuses on the nucleus of artworks in the Fondazione’s collection that best represent the historical period in which Futurism thrived (1909-1939), a time in Italian history that never ceases to generate debates among scholars and the general public, through exhibitions and books. At the same time the Biblioteca comunale dell'Archiginnasio (Piazza Galvani 1 - Bologna) hosts the exhibition Universo Futurista 11 satelliti futuristi, curated by Silvia Evangelisti. The 11 satellites of the title refer to the eleven display cases in the Biblioteca, which preserve documents and objects from the Fondazione Cirulli that complete and complement the ideal path of the main exhibition, Universo Futurista. The exhibition is free and open to the public until June 10, 2018 (Monday - Saturday 9am - 7pm; Sunday and holidays 10am - 2pm). more information and updates fondazionecirulli.org Event hours Saturdays and Sundays 11.00am-8.00pm.
