From 15 to 21 September 2025, the village of Dozza will host the 30th Biennale of the Painted Wall, a historic public art event, this year dedicated to the theme of preservation with the title “Save the Wall”.
Alongside the creation of new mural artworks by selected artists, there will be significant restoration work to preserve existing frescoes, which are increasingly at risk due to time and climate change.
Promoted by the Dozza City of Art Foundation and the Municipality of Dozza, the 2025 Biennale is part of the Bologna Estate 2025 programme, the PTPL and Terre&Motori. The event will involve the entire community with exhibitions, talks, workshops, audio guides, installations and performances, along with collateral initiatives such as the “OFF” event in Grizzana Morandi and cultural partnerships with Vieste and Oliveto Citra.
With more than 100 historic murals created by renowned artists since 1960, Dozza confirms itself as an open-air art gallery, vibrant and accessible, and as a national point of reference for public art.
