The Lercaro Collection, in collaboration with the Galleria San Fedele in Milan, presents the exhibition "Mats Bergquist. Rest ", curated by Andrea Dall'Asta SJ and Elena Dal Molin, open until 22nd April 2019. The Swedish artist starts from wooden supports and following a process of thin stratifications of materialsobtains volumes presenting concave or convex surfaces. The physical consistency of the work is therefore due to a slow and progressive superimposition of materials, until the surface of the object is perfectly smooth. The surface does not show any kind of signs. The first impression is that of "empty" spaces. At other times objects manifest themselves through symbolic forms, such as eggs. Time is the main character: the work consists of a progressive layering of materials, as in the ancient icons ... of a real journey, which marks not only a temporal path of gestures, but a journey of the soul.
