From May 30 to July 20, Palazzo Fava is hosting an exhibition dedicated to Louise Nevelson (Kiev, 1899 - New York, 1988), one of the most innovative and original figures of the 20th century.
Famous for her impressive assemblages made from salvaged and discarded materials, and for challenging the social and cultural conventions that limited the role of women in her time, Nevelson anticipated such fundamental themes today as memory and the condition of women.
Curated by Ilaria Bernardi, the exhibition traces the evolution of Nevelson's work, selecting some of her most significant works, thus offering a contemporary perspective on her radical, visionary and revolutionary artistic research.
The exhibition is presented by the Genesi Association, the Carisbo Foundation and Opera Laboratori, as part of the Genus Bononiae cultural project.
