The ballad “The Sorcerer's Apprentice” written by Goethe in 1797, set to music by Dukas, and turned into a film by Disney, has a new life in the exhibition L'apprendista stregone illustrato da Fabian Negrin (The Sorcerer's Apprentice illustrated by Fabian Negrin) at Salaborsa - Piazza Coperta, from March 20th to April 18th, 2018. The exhibition features Negrin’s works following two different itineraries: all the plates created for the book published by Donzelli, and a focus on the most significant original watercolours presenting the artist’s own interpretation. Some QRcodes enable visitors to understand how Negrin has been affected and inspired by music, cinema, illustration and literature, as well as to listen to the ballad both in the new Italian translation, and in the original German version. The exhibition is curated by Donzelli editore and Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with Biblioteca Salaborsa, Istituzione Biblioteche Bologna, Bologna Children’s Book Fair. It is part of the programme Boom! Crescere nei libri, promoted by Comune di Bologna and BolognaFiere, on the occasion of Bologna Children's Books Fair.
