GIOACHINO ROSSINI La cenerentola Playful melodrama in two acts with a libretto by Jacopo Ferretti, Rossini’s La Cenerentola it configures as an opera made of disguise and transformation, both in history and in musical motifs. The most miraculous transformation of all is, of course, the one in which the protagonist, Angelina, is subject: the naive girl who, when the curtain rises, has fallen into a world of comic opera characters and gradually becomes a mature and regal woman.
