There is an ancient gesture that prepares listening: the improvised prelude, a brief space for warming up, tuning, and sonic imagination. The Ensemble Brezza places it at the center of a project that revives a practice once essential for every professional, transforming it into a narrative device: piece after piece, “chapter” after chapter.

Trained at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the three musicians intertwine traverso flute, viola da gamba, and harpsichord in a journey through the 17th and 18th centuries. The program alternates extemporaneous preludes with works by Händel, Bach, Quantz, Couperin, Leclair, and Rameau, carefully shaping a narrative that unfolds differently each time: one day at a time.
