Roberto Abbado - Sinfonica at Comunale Nouveau

Monday, 1 December, the second of two concerts featuring the Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, conducted this time by Roberto Abbado, Principal Conductor of the Philharmonic. The programme includes Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 2 and Der Schwanendreher, a concerto for viola and orchestra based on ancient folk songs by Paul Hindemith from 1935, with 29-year-old British soloist Timothy Ridout, winner of the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition.
