Frankie hi-nrg mc, voice - Manuel Pramotton, saxophones - Luca Mangani, electric bass - Donato Stolfi, drums
Jazz and rap meet in a journey made of musical contamination, dissonance in rhyme, geographical short circuits. Afro-American and Middle Eastern influences, three parts of Turin and one part of Aosta, agitated and agitating. The incisive improvisation of hip-hop phrasing marries the free improvisation of a Maghrebi-flavored jazz. The result is an explosive alchemy that has the verve of rock and the elegance of jazz. Frankie hi-nrg mc and AljazZeera stage an unparalleled contamination that renews the genres of origin, where the indignation of rap becomes subtle and sharp thanks to the acid melodies and rarefied saxophones, the distorted riffs of the bass and the sustained rhythms of the drums. Frankie hi-nrg mc pioneer of rap debuts with the single "Fight da faida" in 1992, the following year he released the album "Verba Manent" with BMG, the first Italian rap album to be published with a major. He has participated at the Sanremo Festival and collaborated with numerous international artists. He loves to range from music to photography, from theater to cinema, triggering a short circuit of contamination that flows into his musical research. The Italian trio AlJazZeera, that has been active for ten years, has brought a breath of fresh air to the national jazz scene.
