On Friday, January 9 2026, the Auditorium of the Villaggio del Fanciullo in Bologna hosts the vocal ensemble Flos Musicae, the Youth of the Budriese Ocarina Group, and the theatre company I Melodrammatici to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel with the concert-performance Happy New Year, Monsieur Ravel!
The show will also be staged on Saturday, January 10, at the Teatro Comunale in San Giovanni in Persiceto.
The program spans four centuries of French chanson, from the Renaissance to Ravel, blending voices and instruments and presenting the premiere of a new piece specially composed for the occasion.
The journey will culminate in a performance of the famous Boléro, rearranged in an entirely new guise.
The musical program is further enriched by readings from the recent novel Ravel by J. Echenoz, curated by the theatre company I Melodrammatici.
