Boris Bekhterev | Circolo della Musica di Bologna

On Sunday 9 November 2026, the Circolo della musica di Bologna, at Sala Andrea Baldi in Rastignano, hosts pianist Boris Bekhterev.

Born into a family of musicians, Boris Bekhterev began studying piano at the age of five and trained at the Gnessin Music School and the “P. I. Tchaikovsky” Conservatory in Moscow, in J. Milstein’s class. After winning First Prize at the Soviet Piano Competition in 1970, he embarked on a prestigious international career, performing in major concert halls across Europe, America and Japan, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles with leading musicians. A teacher at the Moscow Conservatory and later in Italy and Japan, he has combined his concert career with extensive teaching activity. His broad repertoire places particular emphasis on Russian music and Scriabin, whose works he has recorded extensively for Melodia, EMI, Phoenix Classics and CamerataTokyo. Since 2011 he has been based in Italy again, where he continues his artistic, teaching and recording activities.
