Historical re-enactment at the Nicholas Green Park in Bologna with reenactors in uniform and figures in civilian clothes who will stage the memorable battle that took place on 8th August 1848 in Montagnola, when the citizens of Bologna drove the Austrian militias out of the city.
Historical groups: Battaglione Estense, Associazione Napoleonica Italiana, Vivere il Risorgimento, Carosello Tre Leoni, Itinerari nel Tempo, Primo Leggero.
Weekend program:
Saturday 10th September:
from 3pm Visit of the military camp with historical tents, guard patrols and troops life.
Sunday 11th September:
from 10am to 11am: Military training, with demonstration of battle techniques
from 3pm: "Whoever wants to look beautiful also risks dying. Notes on cosmetics in the 19th century" with Manuela Capece
from 4pm: Re-enactment of the Battle of the Montagnola with battle scenes and barricades that also include the use of blanks and stage machines that simulate the cannons actually used in 1848.
Duration of the battle about 40 minutes.
The event will take place in the park area near the gardens of via Nicolò dell'Abate.
