Bologna celebrates Lucio Dalla with a diverse programme of events: on the occasion of the artist’s birthday, the city has organised a series of events, concerts and unique guided tours over three days. Tour of the Municipal Theatre 11.15 am -12.00 pm - 12.45 pm Guided tour of the theatre, one of the oldest in Italy characterised by the history and timeless charm of its 18th-century features such as foyer Rossini, the area below the stalls, Sala Bibiena renowned for its perfect acoustics and the stage. A unique tour that is part journey of discovery and part theatrical performance. Monday March 4th Special tours with Cristiano Governa of Casa Dalla: Cosa sarà? 10.45 am and 12.15 pm Photography Exhibition curated by Cineteca di Bologna (Bologna Film Library) Foyer of the Municipal Theatre from 11 am to 6 pm Screening of Quijote (2006) Directed by Mimmo Paladino with Lucio Dalla Sala Cervi, Cineteca di Bologna 6 pm Lucio Dalla – Quarant’anni dopo (Lucio Dalla – Forty years later) Municipal Theatre 9.00 pm February 1979, forty years ago… Lucio Dalla published “Lucio Dalla”, one of the most important records in the history of Italian music. A concert between music and performance with Lucio's friends and travel companions: Gaetano Curreri, Luca Carboni, Ron, Francesco Gabbani, Marco Masini, Lo Stato Sociale, Giovanni Caccamo, Renzo Rubino, Iskra Menarini, Graziano Galatone and Riccardo Majorana. Note after note, word after word, scene after scene, the songs will take on an entirely new dimension thanks to the Municipal Theatre’s symphony orchestra conducted by Maestro Beppe D’Onghia. With their diverse and exceptional performances, the nine singers will pay homage to Lucio's timeless melodies in a unique unmissable performance. The musicians who took part in the soundtrack to Lucio Dalla’s life will also perform Maurizio Dei Lazzaretti, Teo Ciavarella, Gionata Colaprisca, Roberto Costa, Bruno Mariani, Massimo Sutera, Jimmy Villotti and Fio Zanotti. Actors Caterina Gabrieli and Brian Boccuni will take part in the performance featuring images and animations by Stefano Cantaroni and Gabriel Zagni as well as a choreography by Alessio Vanzini.
