Guided tour to discover the Reno canal and the hidden corners of the city.
It is difficult to imagine that canals flow under the streets of Bologna. Just below our feet there is another hidden city. As every year, Canali di Bologna will stop feeding the ancient waterways in October. The so-called dry will allow us to organize exclusive guided tours: we will exceptionally accompany you inside the Reno canal. Together we will visit uncovered and underground sections of the ancient city waterway, rediscovering bridges, sewers and artefacts visible only on this occasion.
Entering from the ancient Guazzatoio, in via Righi, we will walk the stretch below via Indipendenza and via Galliera to then reach the bed of the Moline canal passing under the bridge in via Piella and the famous window. Once in the Moline canal, after passing the mysterious curve of the drowned, we will observe the traces of the wheat mills, once concentrated in the stretch between via Capo di Lucca and via Alessandrini, arranged over nine water jumps.
