On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March 2026, Mongiorgio Castle (Monte San Pietro - BO) will be decked out in green for the traditional Irish celebrations of St. Patrick's Day.
For an entire weekend, Mongiorgio Castle will host an event dedicated to Celtic culture, Irish folk music and local music, with live music, guided tours of the monumental complex and local gastronomic specialities. The initiative aims to celebrate the tradition of St. Patrick's Day by offering the public a programme that combines history, culture, music and conviviality in the evocative historical setting of Mongiorgio Castle, recently saved from ruin by a community restoration project and finally returned to public use for the entire community.
Programme (valid for both days):
- 4:00 pm – First guided tour of Mongiorgio Castle
- 5:00 pm – Live Irish music concert
- 6:00 pm – Opening of craft beer, tigelle, crescentine and borlenghi stands
- 7:00 pm – Second guided tour of Mongiorgio Castle
The event is promoted by the Associazione Culturale dei Castelli in Aria, which has been active for over twenty years in the production and organisation of cultural events throughout the Emilia-Romagna region, collaborating with the Municipality and the University of Bologna and with the International History Festival.
