La Città dei Salsamentari

La Città dei Salsamentari: 150 years of Bolognese history, flavour and tradition. 
On 24 and 25 October 2026, Palazzo Re Enzo, in the heart of Bologna, will host La Città dei Salsamentari, the major festival celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Mutua dei Salsamentari and the centuries-old bond between Bologna, its gastronomic culture and its traditional shops.

Two days dedicated to the authentic flavours of the Food Valley, featuring tastings, talks, performances and traditions to rediscover. Highlights include the Festival del Ragù alla Bolognese, featuring a competition for the best traditional ragù; the Tagliere dei Salsamentari De.Co.; Mortadella Day; and the region’s finest food and wine, thanks to the participation of producers, consortia and historic organisations.
