Bologna
The awaited second stage of the exhibition “Under the Sign of the Arcades”, the exhibition that the sculptor Ivan Dimitrov dedicated to the arcades of Bologna on the occasion of their candidacy for Unesco Heritage, starts again at the Baraccano Museum room. The exhibition offers a careful selection of about 60 basreliefs in terracotta with a three-dimensional effect that Dimitrov has dedicated to his "adopted" city: perspective magic, plays of light and shadow, accompanied by historical curiosities and poetic references, offering the image of a city suspended between present and past, engaging and evocative. On display will be some unpublished works created by the artist specifically for the occasion.
Ivan Dimitrov, an artist coming from Bulgaria, known and appreciated nationally, was artistically trained in Italy and chose Bologna as his place of work, where he hosted several exhibitions. The exhibition, organized by the Santo Stefano District of Bologna, with the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region, curated by the art gallery Studio Santo Stefano, is part of the cultural initiatives included in the Management Plan in support of the candidacy of the Porticoes of Bologna as Heritage Universal UNESCO, whose verdict is expected by the summer.
