Wolfango’s figures in Salaborsa

From May 18 to June 6, 2026, in the Covered Square of Salaborsa Library, visitors can admire the original drawings by Wolfango: five large scenes crowded with characters from children’s literature, later reproduced on the walls of the Burattini room in Salaborsa Ragazzi.

The exhibition cases also display sketches, preparatory drafts and reference books. Alongside texts by Antonio Faeti and Wolfango himself, the exhibition panels feature enlarged details referring to the Burattini room and inviting children and families to take part in a recognition game, because for the library Wolfango created a world of references paying tribute to children’s literature and illustration, from Rodari to Calvino, from Luzzati to Disney, from Alice to The Little Prince.

The exhibition is part of “Wolfango 100 – 100 Wolfango”, the programme celebrating Wolfango Peretti Poggi on the centenary of his birth (1926–2026).
