The arts of the Bolognese painting tradition and contemporary perfumery intertwine in the project Sogni di natura, an olfactory journey specially created for the Sala Boschereccia of the Municipal Art Collections of Bologna on the occasion of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, capable of evoking nature, poetry, and the awakening of the spring season.
From the creative encounter that brings together artistic heritage, education, and olfactory research comes an original immersive experience that envelops this magical, timeless place, transforming it into a space of discovery and suggestion.
The initiative is promoted by the Civic Museums of Ancient Art and carried out in collaboration with Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the leading event for companies and professionals across all sectors of the cosmetics industry, and the Italian Perfumery Institute (Milan), a higher education institution born from the experience of Esxence - The Art Perfumery Event.
The installation consists of six olfactory stations, each designed to guide visitors on a sensory journey through natural notes, botanical suggestions, and evocative atmospheres.
The selection of natural raw materials and the creation of the olfactory accords were developed with the involvement of students from the Italian Perfumery Institute, through fragrances inspired by the lush painted decorations that entirely adorn the walls of the Sala Boschereccia. An illusionistic garden influenced by a taste for antiquity, represented by the splendid sculpture placed at its center: the Apollino, sculpted in 1797 by Antonio Canova, in which the god of the sun and poetry is depicted as a young nude figure of perfect form.
The exhibition is open from March 25 to April 19, 2026.
