The National Gallery of Bologna offers a series of tours or family activities to discover the museum's collections.
- Meeting Art Focus in English | Friday, April 10 and Friday April 24, 4:00 p.m.
During the April tour, we will explore the figure of the angel, the heavenly messenger, through the medieval paintings housed in the Pinacoteca. In Paradise, angels are depicted in nine categories, such as seraphim and cherubim, portrayed near God the Father in eternal adoration. The warrior archangel Michael fights the dragon, a symbol of evil, while Gabriel announces the birth of Jesus to Mary. Angels sing and play musical instruments, serving as mediators between divine harmony and creation.
