Following its extraordinary success with audiences and critics across Italy's major cities the exhibition dedicated to the most famous pharaoh of all time, Tutankhamun, is coming to Bologna.
From Saturday 3 October, the renowned Palazzo Belloni will open its doors to the exhibition Tutankhamun: The Tomb, the Treasure, the Curse. An unmissable opportunity to explore the origins of the "Boy Pharaoh" and relive, step by step, the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century, which took place in 1922 thanks to the tenacity of archaeologist Howard Carter. The exhibition offers an immersive and evocative experience, enhanced by spectacular displays, which sparks the curiosity of visitors of all ages with over 100 official replicas, thematic sections and VR which allows visitors to see Carter’s discoveries. Kids will be able to follow a special itinerary while students are provided with guided tours.
To kick off the exhibition, a special event will be held on Saturday 3 October featuring one of the world’s leading experts in Egyptology, Zahi Hawass:
- Lectio Magistralis: presented by the renowned archaeologist Zahi Hawass. It will take place on Saturday 3 October at 10.00 am at the Centro San Domenico, Piazza San Domenico 13, Bologna (free admission upon booking);
- Book signing: Following this, from 3.00 pm at the exhibition at Palazzo Belloni, Zahi Hawass will be signing copies of his new book “The Man with the Hat” (it can also be purchased at the bookshop).
