On Friday 6 February 2026 at 7:00 pm, the exhibition Oro fine Seicento opens at Galleria Otto in Bologna.
Following the solo exhibitions Tondo a Tunisi (1998), Cattedrale (2004), Trittico del mare (2008), and Tutte le stelle del cielo. 1989–2002–2012 (2013), and thirteen years after the solo exhibition Pizzi Cannella Ceramiche realized in collaboration with the MIC – International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, OTTO Gallery is pleased to present Oro fine Seicento.
The exhibition is structured around a single large, imposing, previously unseen work of a museum-scale nature (261 × 468 cm), presented to the public for the first time as a tribute to a private collection and to Pizzi Cannella’s relationship with patronage.
Created between 2006 and 2007 on private commission, the majestic canvas—imbued with a nocturnal atmosphere—dominates the first gallery. Both austere and sumptuous, the work seems to echo the aura of ancient painting, to which the title, Oro fine Seicento, alludes.
