The exhibition brings together works by Concetto Pozzati (Vo', 1935 - Bologna, 2017) dedicated to Giorgio Morandi with objects and studies by the master from Via Fondazza at Casa Morandi.
The exhibition begins with the painting Da e per Giorgio Morandi (1964), which marks Pozzati's transition to a more object-oriented style of painting, and continues through to the Restaurazione (Restoration) series (1973-74).
These works reveal the complex, sometimes conflictual relationship that Pozzati had with Morandi, whom he described as an “uncomfortable man, whom I did not love and do not love, unlike the depth of that unattainable microcosm that was his painting”.
An opportunity to establish a dialogue between two artists who were distant yet very close in a comparison that is still relevant today.
Exhibition curated by Maura Pozzati - promoted by the Morandi Museum in collaboration with the Concetto Pozzati Archive.
