From September 9, 2026 to January 13, 2027, Natura in nummis - Plant Iconography from Ancient Subsistence to National Reconstruction and Global Protection, the new edition of the Il Medagliere si rivela exhibition series, presents a significant, though by no means exhaustive, selection of coins ranging from antiquity to the euro and depicting flowers, fruits and plants, from the collections of the Archaeological Museum of Bologna.
The exhibition offers insights into the persistence and meanings of plant imagery in numismatics.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Accademia Italiana di Studi Numismatici and the Accademia Nazionale di Agricoltura, and is curated by Lisa Bellocchi and Laura Marchesini.
