Monday 18 May 2026 marks International Museum Day (IMD), established in 1977 by ICOM – the International Council of Museums, the leading international network of museums and museum professionals.
The 2026 edition explores the theme of the unity that museums offer in a deeply divided society.
Numerous local authorities in the Bologna Metropolitan Area are taking part in the initiative alongside the city of Bologna.
