On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the European Night of Museums returns — an initiative promoted by the Council of Europe and the Italian Ministry of Culture, aimed at encouraging interest in Europe’s museum heritage.
On this magical night dedicated to culture, a special late opening is scheduled until midnight at several museum locations across the Bologna metropolitan area.
A total of 38 museums and cultural venues are participating, most of which will be open with free admission or a symbolic fee of 1 euro (except for legally mandated free entries), starting from the special evening opening hours. These venues are located across 12 municipalities: Anzola dell’Emilia, Bologna, Budrio, Castenaso, Crevalcore, Imola, Pianoro, San Giovanni in Persiceto, San Lazzaro di Savena, San Pietro in Casale, Valsamoggia, and Vergato.
There will be 71 events offered to the public — adults and children alike — including special openings, guided tours, talks, readings, and tastings.
On the following day, Sunday, May 18, 2025, the International Museum Day is celebrated.
The full schedule of events is available on the website.
