Saturday 23 May 2026 sees the return of the European Night of Museums, an initiative promoted by the Council of Europe and the Italian Ministry of Culture, with the aim of encouraging interest in Europe’s museum heritage.
The full programme of participating venues and events is available onthe website of the Metropolitan City of Bologna.
On this magical night dedicated to culture, special evening openings are scheduled until midnight, depending on the cultural venues in Bologna and the wider metropolitan area.
Most museums and cultural venues offer free entry or a nominal charge of €1 (subject to free admission as required by law), starting from the special evening opening hours.
Monday 18 May 2026 marks International Museum Day.
