Bologna
From 27 October 2023 to 11 February 2024, Genus Bononiae, together with Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, presents at Palazzo Fava. Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Concetto Pozzati XXL, the first anthological exhibition of the artist realised in a museum venue after his death, curated by Maura Pozzati, art critic and lecturer, curator and director of the Concetto Pozzati Archive.
Approximately fifty works from the Concetto Pozzati Archive, some previously unpublished or not exhibited for some time, including large-format paintings, three-dimensional works and works on paper - such as the monumental installation Dopo il tutto (1980) consisting of 301 drawings - make up an organic and fascinating exhibition that helps shed light on the author's most significant and least known production.
Pozzati had long dreamed of holding an exhibition of large-scale works in Bologna. Genus Bononiae and the Concetto Pozzati Archive realise the artist's wish, paying homage with this exhibition to his vast pictorial, graphic, intellectual and human production. Concetto Pozzati XXL outlines an itinerary that is not chronological but divided by themes, suggesting an intimate dialogue between the painter's paintings and the frescoes and architectural and decorative elements of Palazzo Fava. The works chosen for this exhibition, set up in the five rooms of the Piano Nobile and in the rooms of the Piano Galleria, traverse and well illustrate the main stages of his career.
