The Complete Works of Shakespeare in 90 Minutes

On Friday 23 October 2026 at 9:00 pm, the Teatro Dehon in Bologna presents Le opere complete di Shakespeare in 90 minuti (The Complete Works of Shakespeare in 90 Minutes), a show by Roberto Andrioli, Fabrizio Checcacci and Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti, Roberto Andrioli, Fabrizio Checcacci and Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti.

A theatrical challenge bordering on the unbelievable: how can the Bard’s complete works, 37 plays, be condensed into 90 minutes? Or Hamlet be told in 43 seconds?
The Complete Works of Shakespeare in 90 Minutes is a challenge, a light-hearted and extravagant immersion in Shakespeare’s world, and an amusing and entertaining tribute to the great playwright.

The power and poetry of his verse are inevitably diminished, but the aim, after all, is simply to entertain the audience, spark their curiosity and reveal the comic side hidden even in the darkest tragedies.

The show is a parody of all Shakespeare’s works, performed in a comically shortened form by three actors using a wide range of acting techniques.

After its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1987, this highly original comedy ran for nine years with growing success at London’s Criterion Theatre, eventually becoming one of the best-known shows in the world.
