“Before fighting the mafia, you must examine your own conscience, and then, after defeating the mafia within yourself, you can fight the mafia that exists among your friends. The mafia is us and our wrong way of behaving. Borsellino, you died for what you believed in, but without you, I am dead.”
R. Atria
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 8:30 PM, the LabOratorio San Filippo Neri presents the performance La voce che resta - Rita Atria, morte per solitudine, starring Livia Lupattelli.
The performance traces the most significant moments in the life of Rita Atria. An essential stage setting immerses the audience in a true emotional journey.
In this mise en espace emerges the portrait of a young woman suspended between the reality of a violent world, closed in on its own rules and mistrust, and the signs of a world that longs to change. It is the portrait of the inner rupture of a Sicilian woman of our time.
Directed by Juan Diego Puerta Lopez, text freely adapted from the book A Girl Against the Mafia by Sandra Rizza, theatrical adaptation by Roberta Calandra.
