Il Baule di Verdi | Orchestra Senzaspine

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Orchestra Senzaspine will perform at the Teatro Fanin in San Giovanni in Persiceto (BO) in the show Il Baule di Verdi - Dall’Infanzia alle Opere che composero l’Italia (Verdi’s Trunk - From Childhood to the Operas That Shaped Italy).

An old, dusty trunk, hidden in the attic, holds the extraordinary story of Giuseppe Verdi. Through magical objects and fascinating tales, an eccentric narrator—accompanied by the playful puppet Triboletto and the music of a young Verdi at the piano—traces the stages of the great composer’s life: from his difficult childhood to his theatrical triumphs and the famous “Va pensiero,” a symbol of the Italian Risorgimento.

Directed and performed by Andrea Acciai, with puppetry by Mariateresa Diomedes, the show takes audiences of all ages on a journey between fantasy and reality, where classical music intertwines with historical and biographical storytelling. The soundscapes by Francesco Paolino and the piano arrangements by Francesco Ricci create an immersive experience that makes Verdi accessible and entertaining for children and young people ages 6 and up.
