Path of Gods for everyone: accessible project

Updated on 26 March 2021 From Bologna Welcome

The “Via degli Dei” (Path of Gods) is a thousand-year old pilgrim trail originating in Emilia-Romagna and connecting Piazza Maggiore in Bologna with Piazza della Signoria in Florence, along 130km of pure nature and timeless history across the Northern Apennines.

This trail comes with routes and paths accessible to all those who enjoy slow tourism in contact with nature.

The project In montagna siamo tutti uguali (We are all equal in the mountains), through the proposal 5 sensi, mille sguardi (5 senses, a thousand glances) curated by AppenninoSlow in collaboration with NoisyVision Onlus, offers an alternative itinerary along the Via degli Dei, specially intended for visually impaired wayfarers. On the way, travellers support each other without any predetermined roles: there are no helpers and no help seekers, but only united people walking together towards their destination.

Freewheels association has developed the project Klick’s on ways, aimed at promoting a slow travel experience for people with impaired mobility. It consists of a mountain hike in Emilia-Romagna, from Piacenza to the Cisa Pass, intersecting the trails Piccola Cassia, Via degli Dei e Via della Lana e della Seta before getting to the rehab facility of Montecatone.
