Art City 2026 outside the city centre and in the territory of Bologna

The ART CITY Bologna 2026 programme in the metropolitan area is animated by numerous events taking place across the municipalities of San Giovanni in Persiceto, Bazzano, Bentivoglio, Casalecchio di Reno, San Lazzaro di Savena and Imola.

Before leaving the city walls, stop by the information point eXtraBO in Piazza del Nettuno 1/ab, where the solo exhibition Corpo Tessuto 01 by Simone Miccichè – curated by Federica Fiumelli and Francesco Liggieri will be hosted, from 5 to 15 February 2026. The exhibition presents a new and significant selection of works by Simone Miccichè, a Bologna-based artist whose pictorial research focuses on fabric as a symbolic, linguistic and corporeal space.

Art City Bologna 2026 events outside the city and in the Apennines

  • Corticella: Corticellarte 2026 | Art in shop windowsfrom 5 to 14 February. Group exhibition promoted by Corticella-Villa Torchi with the patronage of the Navile District. Shop windows along via Lipparini, via Stoppato, via Bentini, via Gorki, via London, via Corticella. The exhibition is organised around three artists from Corticella: Viviana Santinelli, Remo Tedeschi, Piero Gulminelli, based at the Villa Torchi Neighbourhood House (via Colombarola 40, Bologna).
  • Casalecchio Di Reno: Pavarotti: Beyond the Voice, from 6 to 8 February at the Teatro Comunale Laura Betti. Project curated by Fondazione Orchestra LU.PA, Fondazione Luciano Pavarotti, Municipality of Casalecchio di Reno, Casalecchio Insieme Pro Loco, promoted by the Municipality of Casalecchio di Reno. The project Pavarotti: Beyond the Voice was created to celebrate the creative universe of the Maestro, not only as an icon of world opera but also as a visual artist. The exhibition brings together a selection of his most representative paintings.
  • Rastignano: Found Everywhere, from 7 to 21 February, at the Fornace Rastignano (Via Ligabue, Rastignano). Solo exhibition by Pantaleo Gabrieli curated by Fabio Randazzo, promoted by Pantaleo Gabrieli, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pianoro (patronage). The work focuses on the recovery of everyday materials, which become the support, dictating the way in which the pictorial material is arranged.
  • San Lazzero di Savena: PostAction, from 2 February to 14 March at the ETS Kappanoun. Solo exhibition curated by Roberto Lacarbonara, promoted by ETS Kappanoun, in collaboration with MEVannucci Pistoia. PostAction, the title of Giovanni Termini’s installation at Kappanoun, is an ambivalent term that refers both to the physical place of a working activity and to the aftermath of a story that has already unfolded.
  • San Lazzaro di Savena: Visible Cities. The modern city between imagination and reality, at the Fondazione Massimo eSonia Cirulli, on 8 February 2026, at 11:00 a.m. there will be an intense and multifaceted reading of the architectural and urban imagination in Italian culture of the first half of the last century, revisiting some of the most significant proposals from architecture and the figurative arts.

Art City Bologna 2026 events in the Imola area

  • Imola: Keita Miyazaki. The Garden of Vanities, from 25 November 2025 to 22 February 2026, at Palazzo Tozzoni. Project curated by Diego Galizzi, Riccardo Freddo, promoted by Imola Musei – Municipality of Imola in collaboration with Gallery Rosenfeld. Miyazaki’s installations stand out for their extraordinary originality, a true unicum in the contemporary art scene. Created using discarded mechanical car parts and fragile paper origami, they weave their way among the historic furnishings of the house museum, creating a path focused on the beauty of imperfection.
  • Imola: On display. Art donations to the civic collections, from 20 December 2025 to 15 March 2026 at the Museo San Domenico. Project curated by Oriana Orsi, promoted by Imola Musei – Municipality of Imola. The exhibition presents around forty works that have entered the museums in recent years through direct donations or bequests. These are heterogeneous works that reflect the richness and variety of private collections: from Renaissance plates to nineteenth-century paintings, from twentieth-century engravings and drawings to contemporary art works. Among the artists featured are Antonio Ciseri, Tommaso Della Volpe, Ercole Drei, Lanfranco Quadrio and many others

 Art City Bologna 2026 events in the Plain

  • San Giovanni in Persiceto: Artists at the Museum: Imprinted Images, Linocuts - 7 February – 28 June 2026. The works by Chiara Paolucci, created using the distinctive linocut technique, offer a contemporary reinterpretation of the fusion between science, history and art, intertwining the artist’s inner world with the cultural reality of San Giovanni in Persiceto. The exhibition route unfolds between the Museum of the Sky and the Earth (at the Planetarium and Physics Experience venues) and the Environmental Archaeological Museum. Event curated by Giulia Marchesini / Agen.Ter and Isabelle Giavaresi / @artsinpolaroid, promoted by Agen.Ter and the Municipality of San Giovanni in Persiceto, in collaboration with Michela Vita / @bologna_inunclick.
  • Bazzano: The Houses of Campo dei Fiori1 –15 February 2026. Group exhibition curated by Paola Binante, promoted by Fondazione Rocca dei Bentivoglio, in collaboration with the Municipality of Valsamoggia, the cultural association Spazio Lavì!, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna. The exhibition consists of photographic works by 15 students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna who engaged with the theme of the Workers’ Houses of Bazzano.
  • San Giorgio di Piano: Figures in the Futurefrom 5 to 8 February at Spazio ARKEO in Corte S.A.P. Exhibition curated by Maria Elena Barbieri and Mirko Nottoli, promoted by S.A.P. Studio Associato, in collaboration with Centro Agricoltura Ambiente. The exhibition Traces of Memory proposes a dialogue between the sculptures by ARKEO and the paintings by Maurizio Tangerini, a comparison in which memory becomes a pathway to represent time in all its forms and anthropological connotations.
  • Bentivoglio: Open-air Art Gallery at the Bologna Interportfrom 5 to 8 February at PARKlife™ Bologna. Group exhibition curated by Prologis, promoted by Prologis and Interporto Bologna. In Bologna, PARKlife™ finds one of its most emblematic expressions with the Urban Art Museum at the Interport, where the concept of a logistics park is transformed into a vibrant, creative and sustainable place. Here, containers and industrial façades become canvases for renowned street artists, turning the area into an open-air museum that brings together art, industry and community.
