Two main stretches make up Via San Vitale: the first, from the Two Towers to Piazza Aldrovandi, elegant and bourgeois, and the second, up to the Gate (Porta), small-bourgeois and popular. A few metres from the Gate (Porta) stands the church of S. Maria della Pietà, completed in 1604.
The church of S. Vitale and Agricola would have been consecrated in 430, probably a fake date, but it is certain that it was built in remote times, witnessing the suggestive pre-Romanesque construction crypt, where some relics of the two saints are preserved.
