The Moto Poggi Collection was founded in 2012 and takes its name from its creator and founder, who has always been passionate about mechanics and motorcycles. In the mechanical sector, Pierluigi Poggi has created a museum dedicated to Yamaha that is unparalleled in Europe in Villanova di Castenaso. The museum was born in fact in 2011 but the official opening dates back to 2012.
It is entirely dedicated to racing Yamaha. On the mezzanine some historical pieces like the bikes brought to the world title by Biaggi, Rossi, and others ridden by Carlos Checa, Gary Mccoy, Olivier Jacque. In the parterre 43 racing bikes, models from 1959 to 1992. The pieces on display allow you to easily follow the evolution of frames and engines. Other important pieces are the Yamaha of 1986 world champion Carlos Lavado, the "Pink Panther" by Guido Paci, the YZR 500 of Cadalora and the protagonist of the Daytona 200 Miles, ridden by Giacomo Agostini.
It can be considered the most historic area of the entire collection because it collects models that have many years of history but still in perfect efficiency and well restored. They range from the Gilera Piuma to the 4-cylinder Gilera, the Giro d’Italia Mondial, some MV, Bianchi, Ducati, as well as models built in the early part of the 900s and motorized bikes. Some fine pieces of Cucciolo Ducati, both racing and road.
