Oreficeria Salvatori is a family-run artisan goldsmith’s workshop on Via degli Orefici, just a short walk from Piazza Maggiore.
Taken over in 1946 by Bruno Salvatori, a goldsmith trained in the 1920s, it is now one of the very few artisan workshops still operating on Bologna’s historic goldsmiths’ street. Some documents trace goldsmithing activity in these premises back around 200 years. In the past, the shop could be recognised by the symbol of a barrel, used as a sign for those who could not read.
The workshop on the first floor has trained generations of Bologna goldsmiths, including Bruno’s daughter Nicoletta and his granddaughter Michela Conti, the current owner, who in 2023 received the “Tina Anselmi” Award from the Municipality of Bologna and UDI. The shop offers jewellery in 18-carat gold, 925 silver and precious stones, as well as repairs and restoration of jewellery, including antique pieces, and bespoke creations made in the workshop.
