The Renato Zangheri Archive of Cinema and Photography of the Cineteca di Bologna (ARZ) is a new facility created through the redevelopment of the former Giuriolo Parking Garage by the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna. It houses the Cineteca’s film and photographic collections as well as the L’Immagine Ritrovata restoration laboratory.
ARZ serves as a meeting point between preservation and restoration: a purpose-built, technologically advanced space designed to provide optimal conditions for safeguarding a cultural heritage of exceptional value.
In 2027, the ARZ project will be completed with the expansion of storage areas dedicated to collection preservation, the relocation of the restoration laboratory (currently located at Via Riva di Reno 72), and the opening of a new cinema auditorium.
The archive is open to visitors, industry professionals and students, and hosts educational activities and guided tours.
Part of the archive is open to the public. From June 15 to June 24, 2026, during Il Cinema Ritrovato, guided tours will take place daily at 11:30 am and 5:00 pm. Free admission with advance booking required. For information, please contact bookshop@cineteca.bologna.it.
